Table tennis is one of the fastest sports with a ball. Its complexity requires an adequate level of development of all motor skills from players. Coordination is one of the most important ones.
In the diploma thesis we focused on three manifestations of coordination in table tennis. The ability to perform integrated motion programs enables the performance of more complexed table tennis elements, that require the participation of all body parts. The ability to perform the movement in rhythm enables the dictator to act as smoothly as possible, and adjust its own movement to the external sources of the rhythm. The coordination with lower extremities represents the rationality of leg movement.
We presented some means for the development of selected manifestations of coordination in table tennis. For each of the selected forms of coordination we presented some relay games, which add a variety to the training of younger categories. For the development of the ability to perform integrated motion programs we presented some motor exercises for the development of various technical elements near the table tennis table. These movements were divided into exercises without and with the use of table tennis tools. At the end we also presented an example of station training. In developing the ability to perform movement in rhythm, we focused on developing the ability to perform movement with a forced rhythm. We divided motor exercises into mimicking exercises and exercises with the help of a metronome. In order to develop the coordination with lower extremities, we chose motor exercises with the coordination ladder and also presented an example of a polygon at the end.
With this diploma thesis we wish to present the importance of development coordination in the training of young table tennis players, as it has a great impact on their success in further sports careers.
