Nowadays, social dynamics is in constant change, development and growth, therefore, investments in education, research and development are crucial, as they have a consequence of social welfare. Investment in education, research and development is also a key factor in economic growth in the long term, as it enables competitiveness of countries on the European as well as on the global market. By investing in education, we gain trained personnel who, through the process of research and development , contribute their share and contribute to a more successful economic growth. However, if investments in education, research and development are neglected, then we can not expect economic growth. In my graduation thesis I wanted to explore the impact of investment in education and research and development in the Republic of Slovenia on achieving high economic growth. I have examined the impact of the investments of these processes on economic growth with a comparison between Slovenia, Slovakia and France. I have found that, despite the high investment in education, research and development, it is not possible to achieve satisfactory economic growth in a shorter period of time.
