Abstract
Živimo v svetu in družbi, kjer je zunanji videz bistvenega pomena in ženske se že od malih nog, prek pubertete in do konca življenja, uči, da morajo skrbeti, da je njihov zunanji videz brezhiben. Tukaj nastopijo mediji in estetska kirurgija. Mediji ženskam predstavijo idealno žensko telo, ki ga morajo doseči, da bodo srečne, samozavestne in vključene v družbo. Danes imajo eno izmed najpomembnejših vlog pri oblikovanju ideala ženskega telesa prav družbena omrežja in zvezdnice družbenih omrežij. Ena izmed največjih zvezdnic družbenih omrežij Kim Kardashian je tako za milijone žensk po svetu postala simbol idealnega telesa. Estetska kirurgija pa poskrbi, da ta ideal dosežejo. Cilj diplomskega dela je obravnavati ideal ženske popolnosti s strani žensk in ugotoviti razloge za estetsko kirurgijo, vpliv medijev, še posebej družbenih medijev in zvezdnic, na oblikovanje telesnih idealov. V skladu s tem izvajam kvalitativno raziskavo, v kateri je intervjuvanih osem žensk, ki so opravile estetski poseg. Z raziskavo sem ugotovila, da estetske operacije izboljšajo žensko samozavest, da družbena omrežja niso ključni akter pri oblikovanju današnje podobe idealnega ženskega telesa in da ženske idealnega telesa ne vidijo v telesu Kim Kardashian. S pridobljenimi podatki pa nisem ugotovila, ali je Kim Kardashian dobra vzornica za dekleta.

Title:Imposing discipline upon the bodies in the media: Kim Kardashian as an ideal
Abstract:
We live in a world and society where the outer appearance is essential. Women are told from a young age through puberty and the rest of their lives they need to make sure that their outer appearance is flawless. This is where the media and plastic surgery step in. The media present women with an ideal female body, which they must achieve in order to be happy, self-confident and involved in the society. One of the most important roles in shaping the ideal of a woman's body today are social networks and celebrities on social networks. Kim Kardashian, one of the most famous social network stars, became the symbol of the ideal body for millions of women worldwide. And plastic surgery ensures that this ideal is achieved. The goal of the thesis was to address the ideal of female perfection and find the reasons for plastic surgery, the influence of the media, especially social media, and the role of stars on the development of body ideals. In accordance with that, I carried out a qualitative survey that included an interview with eight women who had plastic surgery. With the research I found that plastic surgeries improve female self-confidence, social networks are not a key player in shaping today's image of an ideal female body, and women do not believe that Kim Kardashian’s body is ideal. However, I was not able to confirm or deny whether Kim Kardashian is a good role model for girls.
