Thesis presents development of an advertising poster. Despite well-developed technology, printed posters are still noticed everywhere as they make an important contribution to successful advertising. When designing an advertising poster, we should pay attention to the target group – it is important to choose the right way to draw the product to the consumer. The history of the poster records various techniques and styles of design that were marked in the given time. One of the most prominent are definitely Art Nouveau, which is the style of first posters, Plakatstil and Art Deco.
As a part of practical work we made seven advertisement posters for made-up products. The first two posters advertise home-made chocolate Buon; one poster represents a chilli flavoured chocolate, the other a hazelnut flavoured one. We also made posters for a healing beverage Aloa, sun cream Sol, coffee Roza and two posters for natural soap M&M; the first one advertises soap with addition of lavender, the other one is for soap with oats. We made an illustration for posters for chocolate Buon and natural soap, whereas we used montaged photos for the others. We choose different approaches when making posters and used a technique we thought is the most adequate for each product. We gave attention to colours, fonts, contrasts, correspondence of shapes and used appropriate compositions.
