Abstract
Namen magistrskega dela je bilo načrtovanje in oblikovanje uporabniškega vmesnika za strateško spletno igro War Clicks. V delu je prikazan celoten oblikovni proces razvoja igre ter predstavljena pot majhnega podjetja, katerega cilj se je uveljaviti na internacionalnih platformah. Temeljni problem, ki ga rešuje eksperimentalni del, je učinkovito vključevanje igralcev v iteracije prototipa in izdelava takšne spletne igre, ki bo odražala njihove želje. V raziskovalnem delu je bil s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika analiziran trg strateških spletnih iger. Tako so bili postavljeni temelji za prvi prototip, ki je bil s pomočjo poglobljenih intervjujev v nadaljevanju dodatno izboljšan. Nastala je nova verzija prototipa, ki je bila ovrednotena s pomočjo Google Analitike, njeni rezultati pa so bili uporabljeni za načrtovanje nadaljnjih nadgradenj. Rezultati raziskovalnega dela so pokazali, da sta vključitev igralcev v proces izdelave igre ter razumevanje njihovih težav ključ do uspeha. Z upoštevanjem želja igralcev so bili izbrani tisti elementi igre, ki igralce najbolj navdušujejo. Uporabnikom je bil omogočen bolj učinkovit dostop do informacij znotraj igre, prenovljena spletna trgovina ter personalizirani profil. Prav tako je bilo z vzpostavitvijo medsebojnega dialoga pridobljenih veliko predlogov, ki so nam bili v pomoč pri nadaljnjih iteracijah igre. Rezultati dela potrjujejo glavno hipotezo, ki pravi, da je tudi z majhno ekipo ustvarjalcev mogoče zasnovati tak uporabniški vmesnik za spletno igro, ki uspešno pritegne igralce ter odraža njihove želje. Skozi proces ustvarjanja magistrske naloge je bilo izvedeno sledenje sicer na videz majhni, a še kako pomembni, začetni fazi nastanka spletne igre War Clicks. Rezultat je tako izdelek, ki dokazuje, da si lahko tudi manjša ekipa ustvarjalcev, kot je Gamex Studio, uspešno izbori svoj prostor na mednarodnih platformah za spletne igre.

Title:Design and development of user interface for a strategic online game
Abstract:
The aim of this master's thesis was to design and develop a user interface for an online strategy game named War Clicks. The work presents the whole design process of the game and outlines the path of a small business that is trying to establish itself on international platforms. The main topic of the experimental part is how to effectively include the players of the game in the iterative design of the prototypes and producing a game that reflects their wishes. With the help of a survey the market of online strategy games was analysed in the experimental part. Furthermore, the first prototype was later enhanced with the help of comprehensive interviews. The new version of the prototype was evaluated with Google Analytics and the results were used to develop a set of further improvements. The results of the experimental part indicated that having the players be part of the design process and understandig their problems is the key to success. By respecting the players' wishes the elements of the game that impress players the most were chosen. The users are now able to access the information in the game more effectively, have access to an updated web store and personalised user profiles. Furthermore, by establishing mutual communication, many suggestions were received that helped with the subsequent iterations of the game. The results of this work support the main hypothesis that even a small team of designers and developers is able to design a user interface for an online game that effectively attracts players and reflects their wishes. Through the process of preparing the master's thesis a small, though very important, initial phase of the creation of an online game was analysed. The resulting product shows that even a small team of designers and developers, such as Gamex Studio, is able to attain a position on international online gaming platforms.
