Degree describes the development of software, measuring the deviation of the moving table in ProtoLaser, programmed in LabView programming enviroment and its add-on FPGA, which we developed for the company LPKF, d. o. o. from Naklo. ProtoLaser is the company's product for cutting and shaping of the printed circuit boards.
The moving table for which we developed the software consists of a twophase stepper motor, for its x-axis movement, a spindle, a linear and rotary encoder and working space attached to a spindle. Moving tables inside ProtoLasers use both x and y axes and use two stepper motors for their movement. In this phase of development, we limited ourselves only on x-axis for easier testing and due to the limited number of components.
The first part of the bachelors degree acquaints the reader with the theoretical information about the working of stepper motors, the meaning of backlash, the LabView program working environment and its module FPGA and how the encoders work. In the second part, the development of the program as such is presented.
