The goal of the diploma thesis is to present the importance of flexibility in the Olympic weightlifting. The work presents flexibility itself and the flexibility in specific field of Olympic weightlifting. The flexibility of weightlifters is topologically defined and described why it is important and how it affects every lift. For every joint involved in weightlifting, exercises for improving flexibility are listed. Exercises are equipped with image materials for easier preview of the exercises. The desire is to bring the flexibility closer to the weightlifters and to make them aware of the positive effect of improved flexibility. Thus, this work presents the first collection of stretching exercises for Olympic weightlifters in Slovenian language.
