The purpose of this thesis is to identify differences in prerace anxiety regarding sex, age, competition licence and education level at show jumping competitions.
The analysis is based on survey data from 61 competitors, who filled out test forms STAI-X1, STAI-X2 and CSAI-2. Their age ranged from 11 to 67 years, competition licence from licence A (lowest) to licence S (highest) and their education level from 1 to 8. Data was processed with statistical program SPSS version 20.0 and computer program Microsoft Excel.
The comparison of experiencing anxiety and self-confidence levels between men and women shown that women scored higher. Statistically significant differences occured in categories »competition licence«, »anxiety traits« and »level of self-confidence«. In all other categories (competition licence, education level and age) differences were so minor, that intermedient connection was very weak or insignificant.
