In this diploma thesis entitled Experiencing Spring by Dancing, activities on the topic of familiarizing with spring are presented. My goal was that children discover different movements according to spring incentives. Children had the opportunity to express their experiences, feelings and mood through the activities.
In the first, theoretical part, I introduced the field of dance. I described the elements of dance, the principles and goals we know, and I also touched the role of the educator in performing dance–movement activities.
In the empirical part I presented research questions, goals and means for dance expression. Eight activities, that I performed in kindergarten, are presented. The analysis and reflection of the performance of activities is also recorded.
I found out that the children showed interest in the work through activities. Good motivation was the key contributor. Children progressed in the dance–movement area. With their suggestions and ideas, they cooperated and created a pleasant climate. I am pleased they have acquired a broader view into spring.
