Abstract

Title:Occupational stress factors
Abstract:
Just as stress is present with people of all ages, it can also be present in different areas of life. In today's fast pace of life and increasingly competitive-oriented society, stress is often present in the workplace. Employees in the educational system are faced with various conditions, related to work environment, demanding interpersonal relations, and other people that are regulating professional and private life. The main objective of this master's thesis is to determine factors, that are onerous for special and rehabilitation educators, and primary school teachers. In this thesis, we have used a descriptive and casual non-experimental method of pedagogical research and a quantitative research approach. We have examined a non-probability sample of special and rehabilitation educators (N = 30) and primary school teachers (N = 50). The questionnaire was sent to primary schools in Koroška region and Velenje, and primary schools with the adapted program in Koroška and Nurture, education, and training Centre Velenje. The results of this research show that the most responsible factors of professional stress for special and rehabilitation educators, and primary school teachers, are a disinterested manner of pupils to work, administrative work, reckless students, time pressure, and impoliteness. We have discovered that in the working environment employees mainly suffer because of the excessive noise; in the area of interpersonal relations most of special and rehabilitation educators and primary school teachers feel accepted and feel like they belong in the working environment; a smaller number of teachers feel a lot of competition. Some think they only have a few contacts between employees and that they are facing the abuse by their superiors. Regarding the regulation of professional requirements and private life, we have noticed that special and rehabilitation pedagogues and primary school teachers do most of their work at home and they take too little time for themselves.
