The aim of this work is to find an appropriate procedure and measuring equipment for the automation of dimension measurement of the tub of dishwasher DW30 on the tub production line. The need for measurement originates from quality assurance of the product. The device must meet the customer’s requirements, which means an accurate, fast and robust measuring device suitable for the industrial environment.
In the introductory part, first there is a list of basic concepts from the measurement technique, which is followed by a presentation of the object measured and the measuring problem. Hereinafter, non-contact and contact methods of measurement are presented and solutions with the use of existing technologies on the market are proposed. Non-contact methods have proven to be less appropriate, so further chapters are primarily intended to develop solutions using the offset contact meters. The development process covers hardware and software parts. At the hardware level, a 3D model of the device is presented, which includes measuring appliance and a tub mounting system and a wiring topology with the proposed components. In the fourth chapter, there is a description of the software for the programmable logic controller - Siemens S7-1200, and the user interface in the LabVIEW environment. In the fifth chapter, there is a presentation of experimental system and an analysis of the results, using the GT2-H50 contact measuring appliance manufactured by Keyence. Next comes a chapter with findings.
