In this final thesis we analyzed the environmental impact of electric vehicles compared to conventional propulsion technologies based on CO2 emissions. We calculated average CO2 emissions per km through emissions to obtain 1kWh of electric energy. Emissions per kilometer for electric vehicles on batteries range around 80 g / km when using the Slovenian network mix of electricity. Compared with gasoline and diesel drives, this is about a quarter less emissions. Compared with hybrid drives, there are almost no differences. The emissions of vehicles on fuel cells are most influenced by the method of hydrogen production. Statistics showing electric vehicles with 0 g / km of CO2 emissions are misleading.
