Since 2007 the Slovenian Forest Owners Association has been organizing auctions in Slovenia. Voice about the auctions was spreading beyond the borders of our country. Buyers usually come from Germany, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland and Portugal. Help with all cooperation was also offered by the Slovenian Forest Service. Reviving foresters visiting the forests, before they cutting timber together with forest owners. Together they successfully review and evaluate quality wood that are suitable for auctions. The wood brought to the auction location is reaching a higher quality and price every year. In the analysis we pointed out the sycamore maple, which is considered to be the favorite of the auction and achieves the highest values. Walnut and plum are always behind him. We found out that the broadleaves have absolute higher value in the auction then conifers. The worst sold leaf is beech. The trend of the mountain maple shows that was in 2012, brought in 942 logs of mountain maple, which represents 40 % of all logs brought to the auction in analyzed year. The number of offers for mountain maple was the highest in 2010, when they reached 1.578 offers. The highest price for the assortment was reached by the sycamore maple in 2016, which amounted to 12.347 €.
