The purpose of this assignment is to present main types of shunt reactors and make a mathematical model that describes active part of shunt reactor. From manufacturers point of view we have to take into consideration customer needs and costs minimization. The model uses input data to calculate multiple possible solutions considering current density and main reactor dimensions. When comparing input and output data we get to know basic information about active part of shunt reactor, allowing us to choose right parameters to meet customer needs.
