In the thesis we focus on the problem of involving elderly in the use of modern technology and explore the design potential for improving the user experience with the purpose of bringing them closer to the solutions that can be beneficial for their lives. At the same time, through a practical overview, we try to solve an actual problem of the elderly with the adherence to medication. We design and develop a mobile application to increase co-operation in treatment in a simplistic way by introducing so-called caregivers who take part and provide help for them.
For evaluation of the potential of the concept and design adaptations for the elderly, the solution is tested on the target users. We summarize the conclusions in the form of recommendations for similar solutions for older age groups and the beginner users of mobile phones. At the same time, we present the possibilities of implementing the concept for increasing adherence according to the existing state of the system in Slovenia, and summarize all the options of upgrading the solution, which we have developed over the course of writing this thesis.
