Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava uporabo lokacijskih storitev in uporabo navideznega območja na mobilnih napravah, ki uporabljajo operacijski sistem Android. Lokacijska storitev je vsaka storitev, ki je odvisna od podatka o trenutnem položaju uporabnika oziroma neke naprave. Navidezno območje je področje okoli točke na zemeljski površini, ki je omejeno s krožnico ali pa z daljicami, ki povezujejo tri ali več točk. Točka je podana z zemljepisno dolžino in zemljepisno širino. V prvem delu naloge opisujem lokacijske storitve in načine pridobivanja položaja na mobilnih napravah. Podrobneje predstavljam tudi koncept navideznega območja in podam nekaj primerov aplikacij, ki uporabljajo navidezno območje. Nato opisujem lokacijske storitve na platformi Android ter uporabo vmesnika GeoFenceApi, s pomočjo katerega upravljamo z navideznimi območji. V drugem delu diplomske naloge opisujem postopek razvoja aplikacije za platformo Android, ki uporablja lokacijske storitve in navidezno območje. Aplikacija služi kot nekakšen vodnik po državi. Preden obiščemo neko državo, si naredimo seznam krajev, ki bi jih radi obiskali. Vsakemu kraju določimo radij, ki določa navidezno območje okoli kraja. Ko naprava pride v navidezno območje, aplikacija prikaže uporabniku obvestilo s povezavo na spletni iskalnik Google, ki prikaže zadetke o izbranem kraju

Abstract:
The present thesis describes the usage of location-based services (LBS) and geofence on a device with Android operating system. A location-based service (LBS) is a software-level service that uses location data to control features. Geofence is an area around some point on the Earth surface and it is limited by a circle with a given radius. Point on Earth is defined as latitude and longitude. First part of this thesis describes theory about location-based services and about technologies on mobile device for obtaining/determining location. Next chapter describes geofence concept and introduce some applications that use this concept. Then we describe location-based services on Android platform and usage of GeofencingApi on that platform Second part of thesis describes development process of a application with geofence concept. Application was developed for Android operating system. Purpose of this simple application could be described as Country Guide, where user create list of places which they want to visit. On every place, they have to add radius which create/form geofence around user place. When devices enter in geofence, application shows pop up notification which leads to Google search for keyword user set as a name of geofence
