Abstract
Primerjava rezultatov je razkrila dolgoročne posledice izbiranja nagrajenk s strani literarnih strokovnjakov in, nasprotno, izbiranja z glasovanjem bralk.

Abstract:
This Master's thesis considers literary competitions for best women's stories held by the Republika newspaper, the Jana magazine, and the Ona supplement. The theoretical part of the thesis looks at women's writing in general and provides a historical overview of literary creation by women in Slovenia and abroad. This is followed by a review of literary competitions for women in Slovene periodicals, which shows how they transitioned into book form and how the idea of the competition itself changed with time. Conducting research using the union bibliographic/catalogue database COBIB, we aimed to determine whether early competitions established more participants than competitions organised by Ona later on. A comparison of the publication numbers of participants confirmed this hypothesis, reasons being a bigger influence of literary tradition on early competitions on the one hand, and the popularisation of Ona's competitions on the other. A comparison of results revealed the long-term effects of choosing winners by way of literary critics and, contrariwise, by means of reader voting.
