Abstract
S pomočjo ankete smo ugotavljali, katere pasemske skupine so v Sloveniji največkrat podvržene poškodbam, pri katerih načinih lova največkrat pride do poškodb in kakšne so vrste poškodb. Zabeležili smo 19 poškodb (68 %) in 9 poginov (32 %). Pogosti vzroki za poškodbe in pogine lovskih psov so bili: napad ranjene divjadi, padci v prepad, trki z vozili in stik z močeradom.

Title:Injuries and deaths of hunting dogs in hunting
Abstract:
A hunting dog is an important part of hunting. While hunting the dog needs to be encouraged and protected at the same time. The aim of this B. Sc. Thesis has been to describe the most frequent hunting dog injuries suffered in hunting and some precautions for preventing and alleviating them. Using a questionnaire we have found out which hunting dog breeds are most frequently subjected to injuries in Slovenia, which ways of hunting are most likely to cause them and what types of injuries dogs suffer from. Participating hunters encountered their own dogs' injuries from 2012 to and 2017. Despite a very small number of completed questionnaires (we only had 28 fully completed), the result analysis of the most frequent hunting dog injuries corresponded the facts described in the literature. We noted 19 injuries (68 %) and 9 deaths (32 %). Most of injuries were mechanical (89 %), e. g. abrasions, cuts, stabs, lacerations and fractures. We also noted an example of a biochemical injury, i. e. the intoxication with the alkaloids of a salamander. Frequent causes of injuries and deaths of hunting dogs included the attacks of injured game, falls over precipices, crashes with vehicles and a contact with a salamander. Most hunting dog injuries were caused by injured game (58 %), mostly by wild boars (73 %).
