Legal background

The foundations for the message are the changes of the Electronic Communications Act (Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia, no. 109/2012), which became valid in the beginning of the year 2013 and have brought the new rules regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies for the storage of information or access to information, stored on the computer or the mobile device of the user.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a file which stores the web page setup. Web sites store cookies into the user devices used for accessing the internet with the purpose to recognize individual devices and setups that the users have used during access. Cookies enable the web sites to recognize if the user has already visited the web site in question. The advanced applications can use them to adjust individual setups. The storage of cookies is completely controlled by the user’s browser, so s/he can limit or disable the storage of cookies.

Why are cookies needed?

Cookies are essential for the user friendly web services. They are used for the storage of the performance of an individual web site (details of adjustments of the individual web sites), they help executing web services (e.g., web commerce) and with gathering the statistics on users and visits of the web site as well as about the habits of the web user etc. The cookies help us to estimate the efficiency of our web site scheme.

Control of cookies

Storage and management of cookies are under complete control of the user's browser. The browser can limit or disable the storage of cookies as wished. Cookies saved by the browser can be erased, instructions can be found on the web pages of individual browsers:
