Abstract
V članku je predstavljen hidrološki model Glinščice, izdelan s programom Flo-2D. Cilj raziskave je bila analiza uporabe dvodimenzijskega matematičnega modela Flo-2D za hidrološko modeliranje v primerjavi z enodimenzijskim modelom HEC-HMS. Flo-2D je komercialen, fizikalno zasnovan model z distribuiranimi parametri. Osnovni namen programa je račun rečne hidravlike. Odtok s porečja računa ob upoštevanju topografije oz. digitalnega modela višin (DMV), količine in jakosti padavin ter rabe in vrste tal. Na drugi strani pa je HEC-HMS prosto dosegljiv program, s katerim na podlagi podatkov o padavinah, maksimalnih pretokih in nekaterih lastnostih porečja, enostavno izdelamo dovolj natančen model površinskega odtoka. V obeh modelih so bile padavinske izgube izračunane po isti metodi, SCS CN (angl. Soil Conservation Service Curve Number method). Model Flo-2D je bil umerjen s spreminjanjem velikosti računske celice, koeficientov hrapavosti in različnih nastavitev koeficienta CN za izračun izgub. Podana je tudi primerjava hidrogramov odtoka za 10- in 100-letne nevihte s trajanjem 2, 12 in 24 ur. Izračunani volumni odtoka se dobro ujemajo z merjenimi, vendar daje model HEC-HMS ustreznejšo obliko hidrograma odtoka. V programu Flo-2D je najbolj problematična ocena Manningovih koeficientov hrapavosti ter izbor velikosti računskih celic, v programu HEC-HMS pa ocena časa koncentracije. Sama izdelava tovrstnih modelov zahteva številne prostorsko razporejene podatke. Umerjanje modela z distribuiranimi parametri se je izkazalo za zelo zahtevno in dolgotrajno. Izkazalo se je, da je model Flo-2D v hidrološki praksi uporaben le za izkušene modelarje ter v primerih, kjer so na razpolago kvalitetni in natančni vhodni podatki.

Title:Analysis of the possibility of using the distributed two-dimensional model Flo-2D for hydrological modeling
Abstract:
The paper presents a hydrological model of the Glinščica watershed with the program Flo-2D. The aim of the research was to analyze the applicability of the two-dimensional mathematical model Flo-2D for hydrological modeling and to compare the results with the one-dimensional HEC-HMS model. Flo-2D is a commercial, physically based model with distributed parameters. Its main purpose is modeling river hydraulics. It continuously computes the rainfall runoff from the watershed according to the topography or a digital elevation model (DEM), the quantity and intensity of precipitation, the land use and soil type. On the other hand, HEC-HMS is freely available software that enables to create a simple and sufficiently detailed hydrologic model on the basis of precipitation, discharge and some watershed characteristics. In both cases precipitation losses were computed with SCS (Soil Conservation Service) Curve Number loss method. Flo- 2D model was calibrated by varying input and modeling parameters including grid size, roughness coefficients and SCS Curve Numbers. The results of 10-year and 100-year events and 2, 12 and 24-hour storms are also compared. The results of runoff volumes are comparable, but the shape of runoff hydrograph computed with HEC-HMS model is much better. In the Flo-2D model assessing the Manning roughness coefficient and selecting the size of the grid cells are the most problematic, whereas in the HEC-HMS model it is the assessment of the time of concentration. Calibration of the model with distributed parameters is difficult and time-consuming. The results have shown that the Flo-2D model can be used in hydrological practice only in cases where good input data are available for the model and its calibration.
