Tundish as a part of continous casting equipment connects casting ladle and mould. Its function is the distribution of melt to single stands, and to be melt accumulator during the ladle change in sequential casting. Between the melt inflow to tundish and single outflows, the melt is intensively mixed by turbulence. The most suitable way of analyzing melt flows in the tundish are physical scaled models made of plexiglas, and mathematical modelling. Paper describes enables to determine the flow lines and flow directions, and thus the flow of melt in the tundish can be forecast.
