Based on the model of potential and competitive successfulness we tried to establish the connection between chosen morphological dimensions and a criterion on a sample of 34 young competitors in Alpine skiing. The criterion was the successfulness in competitions on the basis of the points scored in the Argeta Cup in the 2011/12 season. The first part of the study involved the calculation of the correlation coefficients which helped us to establish that four (AV-body weight, AT-body height, APKOL-diameter of the left knee and AOSL- circumference of the left thigh) out of the total number of eight morphological variables are connected in a statistically significant way if we take into account the competitive successfulness of our sample. In the second part of the study with using of the multiple regression analysis, we calculated statistically significant connections (R=0,811*; R(Sig)=0,048) between only four statistically significant connections of morphology and actual successfulness. According the praxis experience onećs body constitutionis important to achieve good results in alpine skiing competitions. This is particularly noticeable in childrenćs competitions where more corpulent competitors can achieve greater speeds. Experience shows that the constitution of children plays an important role in faster gliding on skies, but the main goal of this study was to confirm it also with help of scientific approach.
