Due to different reasons some categories of population are in a significantly unfavourable situation on the labour market. Vulnerable categories represent arelatively small share of the whole population and therefore little statistical facts are available about them. The article includes a descriptionof the methodological approach, which enables the collection of basic data about social and economic position of vulnerable categories in Slovenia, as well as the collection of information about barriers to employment and possible measures to increase their employability. Results for two vulnerable categories are presented. They are interesting especially because of the differences in data collected from different sources.
