20.500.12556/RUL-190731 Re-confirmation of the occurrence of the hermit crabs Dardanus calidus (Risso, 1827) and Dardanus arrosor (J. F. W. Herbst, 1796) (Decapoda: Diogenidae) in the Gulf of Trieste (Northern Adriatic) Potrditev pojavljanja rakov samotarcev Dardanus calidus (Risso, 1827) in Dardanus arrosor (J. F. W. Herbst, 1796) (Decapoda: Diogenidae) v Tržaškem zalivu (severni Jadran) The article reports on recent, confirmed records of Dardanus calidus and Dardanus arrosor hermit crabs from the Slovenian part of the Gulf of Trieste (Northern Adriatic). The records are based on photographed and preserved specimens collected between 2018 and 2025. These findings provide reliable evidence of the occurrence of both species in the area and support the plausibility of previously uncertain historical records.
