20.500.12556/RUL-187160 Refugees and (im)migrants (re)conceptualizing and (re)contextualizing migration in the media The article analyzes media coverage of migration and refugees from 2015 to 2022 in five selected European countries during the European migration crisis, the adoption of international agreements for their (political) solution, and the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Reporting on migra-tion is found to be primarily shaped by national political context and reflects the most important issues of the time, often portraying migration as a potential threat and invasion. The concepts of “migrant” and “refugee” often overlap in journalistic discourse, which confirms the absence of a clear conceptualization of migration in the media. refugees migrants conceptualization contextualization media coverage big-data analysis stereotypes begunci migracijska politika mediji javno mnenje true false true Angleški jezik Slovenski jezik Članek v reviji 2026-09-09 09:24:52 2026-09-09 09:24:53 2026-09-10 04:31:13 0000-00-00 00:00:00 2026 0 0 Str. 515–532 no. 3 Vol. 24 2026 0000-00-00 Zaloznikova Objavljeno NiDoloceno 0000-00-00 0000-00-00 0000-00-00 314.151.3-054.73:07 1556-2948 10.1080/15562948.2024.2324305 192068611 Refugees_and__Im_Migrants___Re_Conceptualizing_and__Re_Contextualizing_Migration_in_the_Media.pdf Refugees_and__Im_Migrants___Re_Conceptualizing_and__Re_Contextualizing_Migration_in_the_Media.pdf 1 55A66252D8109836BE0747D379F5163D 983e4a13c9b225ced986603a3d68cff63fdc2709a7fbf04500851b350ab883ae 75a4f85e-ac31-11f1-8bc5-0050569b8976 https://repozitorij.uni-lj.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=246691 https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/15562948.2024.2324305 0 bed3c1b2-ac1f-11f1-8bc5-0050569b8976 https://repozitorij.uni-lj.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=246613 Fakulteta za družbene vede 0 0 0
