20.500.12556/RUL-112688 Les bandes dessinées de Tintin - la polyvalence de l'interjection dans le discours et ses fonctions possibles dans la communication The Tintin comic books - the versatility of the interjection as a part of speech and its possible functions in communication Georges Remi, plus connu sous le nom de Hergé, est un dessinateur de bandes dessinées, célèbre grâce à Les Aventures de Tintin, une série de 23 albums relatant les aventures de Tintin, un jeune reporter et aventurier belge. Les bandes dessinées sont très riches du point de vue sémantique et une catégorie particulièrement abondante est celle de l'interjection. Ce mémoire examine de plus près les différentes parties du discours pouvant constituer une interjection, le message qu'elle envoie et le rôle qu'elle joue dans une bande dessinée en se concentrant sur cinq œuvres d'Hergé: Le crabe aux pinces d'or, Le sceptre d'Ottokar, L'étoile mysterieuse, Tintin au Congo et Tintin au Tibet. La première partie de la thèse explique les origines de la bande dessinée et son développement au cours du siècle dernier, et une courte biographie de Hergé et une description des trois personnages principaux sont également incluses. La deuxième partie est de nature théorique. Elle a pour objectif de définir l’interjection et la manière dont elle se distingue des autres parties du discours, de présenter les bases de la sémiotique et de définir la théorie de Jakobson sur les fonctions du langage. Enfin, la partie analytique, basée sur les cinq travaux, munit des exemples détaillés tout au long de la seconde partie de la thèse et, au moyen d’une analyse textuelle, fournit les informations nécessaires sur les interjections trouvées. Georges Remi, better known as Hergé, is a cartoonist, famous thanks to The Adventures of Tintin, a series of 23 albums chronicling the adventures of Tintin, a brave young Belgian reporter and adventurer. Comic books are very plentiful from a semantic point of view and a category that is especially abundant is that of the interjection. This research paper takes a closer look at the different parts of speech that can constitute an interjection, the message it sends and what function it undertakes in any given comic by focusing on five of Hergé’s works: The Crab with the Golden Claws, King Ottokar's Sceptre, The Shooting Star, Tintin in the Congo and Tintin in Tibet. The first part of the dissertation explains the origins of the comic book and its development during the last century, while a short biography of Hergé and a description of the three main characters are also included. The second part is of a theoretical nature, its aim is to define the interjection and the manner in which it differs from other parts of speech, as well as to outline the basics of semiotics and to define Jakobson's theory on the functions of language. Finally, the analytical part, based on the five works, provides detailed examples throughout the second part of the dissertation and, by means of a textual analysis, gives the necessary information on the interjections that were found.
