Since foreign language instruction became compulsory in the first grade in Slovenia a few years ago, teachers have played an important role in implementing early foreign language education. The thesis therefore explores how teachers perceive first-grade EFL instruction, which teaching methods and activities they use, and which benefits and challenges they associate with teaching English to young learners. The theoretical part discusses the characteristics of young learners, principles of early foreign language teaching, methods and activities suitable for first-grade EFL instruction, and teachers’ attitudes and beliefs. The empirical part is based on an online questionnaire completed by 31 Slovenian primary school teachers who teach or have recently taught English in the first grade.</dc:description><dc:date>2026</dc:date><dc:date>2026-10-11 07:16:26</dc:date><dc:type>Magistrsko delo/naloga</dc:type><dc:identifier>189624</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>VisID: 643510</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></metadata>
