The article is structured in three sections. The first one consists in the analysis of some texts by many Church Fathers and medieval theologians that designate the Virgin as the Queen of Heaven. The second section exposes numerous fragments of medieval liturgical hymns that proclaim the raised Mary as the Heavenly Queen, Lady of angels and saints. The third section brings the iconographical analyses of seven paintings and sculptures that illustrate Mary’s Assumption as the crowned Queen of Heaven.
