Adopting the Translator Studies approach (Chesterman 2009), the research shifts focus from translated texts to the translator himself. To gain access to a translator through paintings, the study conducts an interdisciplinary analysis of pictorial-artistic representations, combining translation theory, art history, picture theory, and media analyses. By exploring eight Western European paintings, it reveals attributes and characteristics that identify Jerome as a translator. Additionally, it illustrates which depictions held greater prominence within the respective society, thereby facilitating a deeper understanding of the significance of Jerome’s translation of the Bible in a particular historical period.</dc:description><dc:date>2025</dc:date><dc:date>2026-04-13 15:57:34</dc:date><dc:type>Članek v reviji</dc:type><dc:identifier>181701</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>UDK: 81'25:75.04</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISSN pri članku: 2784-5826</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>DOI: 10.4312/stridon.5.1.41-67</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>COBISS_ID: 275056387</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></metadata>
