By analyzing a large body of professional literature, it has been shown that technology has, over time, become an integral part of the fight against terrorism, and consequently, the work has followed the tools and methods that have evolved from the 20th century to the present. Moreover, it has been demonstrated that a particularly significant leap occurred when artificial intelligence began to be applied in security services. The thesis adopted a qualitative approach. A large number of scientific papers, books, newspaper articles, documentaries, and case studies (such as the American Project Maven, Palantir Gotham, and the integration of AI in European counterterrorism efforts) were reviewed, showing how artificial intelligence has succeeded in enhancing intelligence capabilities, data processing, and, above all, early threat detection. In addition to these almost surprising benefits, certain problems and challenges related to citizen data protection and the accuracy of the results provided by this latest technology have also emerged. The conclusion is that technology is indeed a great ally in the fight against terrorism, has greatly contributed to saving human lives, and is expected to continue to do so. Investment in its development and in the development of artificial intelligence is necessary, but only if they are applied within certain clear and concrete standards and humane frameworks; otherwise, we may end up with a flawed tool that could cost us dearly.</dc:description><dc:publisher>A.
