The thesis researches the history of the English language with a focus on the importance of correct spelling, the history of teaching spelling and strategies for teaching spelling. Based on an overview of spelling tasks in textbooks and two questionnaires examining teacher and secondary school student attitudes towards spelling, tasks for teaching spelling were created. These were tested on secondary school students who also provided some feedback through an additional questionnaire. The theoretical research and student and teacher attitudes prove that spelling is still valued as important. Students consider spelling tasks based on the history of English to be quite useful. The history of English is a teaching topic with much potential that goes beyond the field of spelling.</dc:description><dc:date>2025</dc:date><dc:date>2025-09-24 07:17:10</dc:date><dc:type>Magistrsko delo/naloga</dc:type><dc:identifier>173822</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>VisID: 593851</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>COBISS_ID: 253823235</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></metadata>
