The thesis addresses the artists who migrated to France in the past thirty, thirty-five years, either in the times of Yugoslavia or Serbia. It will present the role of migration and mobility in their lives, how it shapes and influences their lives, their worldview, and their art production. The thesis is based on the research of people born in Yugoslavia and Serbia, as well as those of Serbian origin, who were born abroad but raised in Serbia. The thesis is divided into sections that are all based on life stories of the artists interviewed. It starts at the very beginnings of their artistic paths, moving onto their perception of migration and mobility as practices offering possibility of career advancement in art, and to their life situations in which they fulfill their artistic aspirations.
