This angle allows and prompts the author to highlight an obsession with the issue of conspiracy that permeates the vast majority of assassination analyses, and examine its rationale. Furthermore, the retrospective angle and popular cultural focus allow the text to question the status of the assassination as an inaugural event that signified a change in (political and cultural) epochs.
