Based on the analysis of two projects – Craftwork and Heritage & Modernity – it demonstrates that these calls operate on two levels: as discursive mechanisms that regulate the valuation of handicraft through specific signifiers, and as material managerial regimes that organise the conditions of production through institutional requirements. Thus, these calls do not function merely as a form of support but rather as active governance processes that simultaneously produce regimes of valuation and the material conditions of handicraft practice.
