The research is divided into five chapters. The first chapter offers a brief methodological introduction and explains why this question warrants further exploration. The second chapter focuses on an analysis of all the verses in the Hebrew Bible where the root ?mlk is attributed to God. The third chapter examines the use of the semantic field of God’s kingship in Christian and Jewish texts from Late Antiquity. The fourth chapter is entirely dedicated to the discussion of the semantic field of God’s kingship in the Qur?an. In chapter 5, the semantic field of God’s kingship in the Qur?an is contextualized within the original communicative event during which the qur?anic verses were revealed and where Jewish and Christian thought was undoubtedly present. The semantic field of God’s kingship encompasses many key terms of the Qur?an and constitutes a significant portion of the content associated with the word God. Furthermore, the use of the semantic field of God’s kingship in the Qur?an illustrates that it was frequently employed in a polemical context, as the Qur?an, unlike Judaism and, specifically, Christianity of the time, asserted that only one being could be described as the heavenly king.</dc:description><dc:publisher>[A.
