In order to characterize the normal source, tests are performed in a laboratory, and that procedure is described here. The normal source is a sphere that has 8 tungsten halogen lamps arranged around the circular exit port. For each lamp, the tests are performed separately. After all the measurements are made, the uncertainty model is made. The uniformity of luminance of the normal light source is checked and included in the uncertainty model.
This thesis discusses also calibration of luminance meters. The procedure of the calibration is described, as well as which equipment is used and what are the required properties for it. In order to calibrate luminance meters, one must know which quality indices to check. Characterization of luminance meters described here is based on CIE standard S 023. The paper also gives the information about the types of luminance meters: their construction, advantages and disadvantages, and when each of them is used. Furthermore, the theoretical background of luminance is given. For better understanding, the physics of light is briefly explained, how it can be measured, and what are the differences between radiometric and photometric quantities.</dc:description><dc:date>2022</dc:date><dc:date>2022-10-28 11:05:00</dc:date><dc:type>Magistrsko delo/naloga</dc:type><dc:identifier>142263</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></rdf:Description></rdf:RDF>
