Because of the cultural specificity and the non-compositional meaning of phrasemes, their translation into a target language appears as a challenging task that presents no universal solutions. This reveals to be even more difficult in the context of television series, where the translator is faced with numerous spatial and temporal limitations related to subtitling. Considering the semantic, formal, and functional correspondence of phrasemes, and the above mentioned limitations, the analysis exposes some more or less successful translation examples, compares the frequency of Baker’s translation strategies in the two series and provides a separate interpretation of the results.20222022-09-22 08:15:38Magistrsko delo/naloga141016sl
