The effect of a steel gear's surface on the polymer gear's wear was investigated. Values for the wear coefficient of a steel/PEEK gear pair in dry and lubricated conditions are proposed. Testing showed that, on average, grease lubrication extends the lifespan of PEEK gears by a factor of 1.23, while the additional treatment of steel gears with trovalisation and lubrication extends the lifespan by a factor of 2.54. Temperature measurements were used to determine the coefficient of friction that is required to compute the operating temperature of a steel/PEEK gear pair. Using numerical simulations it was found that a proper tooth tip relief can improve the meshing and results in a further extension of the gear's lifespan.</dc:description><dc:date>2019</dc:date><dc:date>2022-06-30 09:25:18</dc:date><dc:type>Članek v reviji</dc:type><dc:identifier>137767</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></rdf:Description></rdf:RDF>
