We define the role of supply chain management in Health 4.0, as well as discuss its main issues, with a focus on inventory management as a crucial process that has a lot of room for improvement. The role of OCR in healthcare inventory management is explored via a domain overview of existing solutions. We describe the solution that was developed as a part of this bachelor thesis, the technologies that were used, the system’s design and its functionalities. The application implements a novel functionality in inventory health management, namely the use of OCR for the goals of data entry automation and data extraction from invoice documents in healthcare.
