In my diploma thesis, I introduced bronze casting according to the process of a lost wax model, and how they met with bronze casting in the past. Bronze and related alloys are the oldest and still the most popular metals for casting metal sculptures. I investigated historical periods that significantly influenced the technology of bronze casting statues and described how the Egyptians, the ancient Greeks, the Chinese, how the technology of bronze casting developed in the Renaissance and during the time of J. V. Valvasor.
In the practical part of my diploma thesis, I presented the process of lost wax casting, from the beginning (modeling in clay), to the application of the patina, in which the statue gets the final image.
