The thesis presents a design and development of control system for a production line, which consists of five stations. Each of the stations performs its function in the line of processing, transport and storage of workpieces.
In the second chapter, we explain the operation of the modular production system for each separate station. Sensors and actuators installed on stations are explained as well.
The third chapter is intended for programmable logic controllers. It explains the part of the IEC 61131 standard, which sets out their overall design. In this part of the standard, we focused on programming languages. The chapter also explains implementation of programmable logic controllers, their addressing of inputs and outputs, the use of timers, and in the end, Siemens S7 1200 PLC, which is used for proces control.
The fourth chapter explains the TIA portal software, which is used to programme the Siemens controller as well as its functionality and usage in the implementation of the PLC programming.
In the fifth chapter, we present the programming of a modular production system. At first, the structure of the user program on all five stations is described. Then, we explain the table of variables used for programming the PLC. In the end of the chapter, parts of the user program structure for each station separately are presented.
