In present diploma thesis France Prešeren's life and his literary works in picture book form are considered, and chronologically placed in context of his most important life periods. By presenting selected illustrations of Prešeren's literary works, role of illustrators was emphasised and shown that illustrators importantly contribute to awareness of France Prešeren and his literary work among the youngest population. Research methodology was developed where, by means of poll questioning through game play, children's (aged 3 – 6 years) knowledge about France Prešeren was examined. Finally, quality of subsequent kindergarten activity was quantitatively evaluated.
