In my thesis I have first proposed the dimensions of a new standard vehicle, based on statistical data concerning vehicle sales in Slovenia and the dimensions of new vehicles. On the basis of the proposed new vehicle dimensions, I calculated the size of parking lots, the radius of turns and the suitable slope gradients.
In the second part of the thesis I have, based on my research, composed instructions for the design of parking places with the help of parking devices. I tried to present the instructions as clearly as possible in order to lighten the burden of design engineers. At the same time, I tried to draw attention to parameters important in car park design. I have also prepared an overview of parking devices on the Slovene market. The overview of parking devices accessible in Slovenia was made by classifying the available systems and subsequently presenting comparable products of different providers.
In the last part I have used a practical example to present the process of designing parking spaces with the help of parking devices. I have presented some possible solutions to the problem of the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering car park. First I shed some light on the current situation and problems and then presented possible solutions with relative approximations of the needed investments.
