The purpose of the thesis was to examine optical properties of Atriplex portulacoides, Crithmum maritimum and Limonium angustifolium. We studied the influence of salt and other anatomical structures on reflectance and transmitance (between 280 nm and 885 nm). We carried out biochemical analyses about contents of chlorophyll, carotenoid, anthocyanin and UV-absorbing substances. We determined the amount of water in leafs, the presence of trihomes and the amount of salt on leaf surfaces. We also analysed the leaf structure. The results showed differences in reflectance and transmitance of our three species. Also morphological and biochemical properties had influence on optical properties. Salt cristals on leaf surface showed influence mostly on transmitance, but also on reflectance.
