Vending machines are a faster and cheaper way of selling products. Their boom began in the second half of the nineteenth century for the sale of postage stamps, newspapers, tobacco. Nowadays, we can hardly imagine life without this kind of machines, whether it comes to buying daily coffee, a sandwich or a chocolate biscuit. Lately, this kind of machines are used in the sale of agricultural products, which is why I have decided upgrade an old vending machine to a machine for selling chicken eggs.
The thesis includes a review of Slovenian law on standards of the farming method, standards of classification, labeling, storage and selling eggs, which was a prerequisite for legally using a vending machine for selling eggs. Subsequent work was based on exploring the market with second-hand vending machines, choosing an appropriate one and upgrading it to vending machine for selling eggs.
The last part of the thesis was to embrace the machine using a Raspberry Pi microcomputer for remote control, which allowed monitoring the number of sold eggs, so that is possible to fill the machine only when needed.
