Equations for flat or low land rivers, which are usually used for modelating with special computer programs, do not act well in steep (torriental) streams. In this kind of streams we have a complex behaviour, because it comes to a multistage stream flow and to a changing rough Manning coeffcient as a function of a flow or water level in the river. The correct determination of this coefficient is essential in hydraulic modeling. In my thesis I was trying to define the hydraulic conditions in the selected high-gradient steep stream Kuzlovec as much as possible. I described some conventional hydraulic equations (Manning, De Chezy, Jarrett equation, etc.) and computer program HEC-RAS. The main purpose of this task was to verify the operation of the hydraulic model in extreme hydraulic
conditions of steep torrential channel with an average fall of 16%. In the practical part I presented detailed analysis of hydraulic conditions for a steep stream Kuzlovec in Polhograjsko hribovje, which are forming with steep slopes, cascades and rocks. Hydraulic model was created based on terestic lidar track channel and five different flow
rates.
