The thesis presents a copyrighted portrait drawing associated with modern life, which in substance pertains to the artistic creativity of the German artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867–1945). In the first part of the thesis her life and work are presented, with a focus on social issues in her oeuvre: her sense of social justice, openness to other people and commitment to the mission of depicting distress and suffering of humankind of her time in the language of art and taking a socio-critical perspective to the matter.
In the second part I first present my views on the topic of homelessness, with reference to cooperation with the Department of Social Pedagogy and the homeless, highlighting the area of cohabitation. The presentation of the programme and society Kralji ulice (‘Kings of the Street’), in the framework of which I have established an integration project, is coupled with the introduction of the eponymous newspaper. Further on, my cooperation with the mentioned organisation is described and presented: the creation of a new art section in the monthly Kralji ulice, the publishing of articles in it, and conducting art workshops and the project titled "Me as architecture".
The diploma thesis ends with a presentation of the copyrighted work of fine art, which is divided into three creative series (floor layouts, portraits and self-portraits), and, in addition to the definition of motifs and conceptual perspective, also highlights the choice and character of the individual drawing techniques or materials.
