The present work summarizes the importance of modern technology, used to obtain relevant information in medicine. The thesis presents an ultrasonic device as an indispensable device in medicine. The work is divided into nine chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the study. The second and third chapter introduces the basic concepts for the understanding of the functioning ultrasound equipment. The focus is on the history, time when the device was first used for medical research. The fourth chapter describes the various two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasound probes and their use. We briefly describe what happens to the wave when it comes into contact with the tissue, and the quality of ultrasound images. The fifth chapter is about how a particular application works, it’s components, and usage. In the sixth chapter the focus is on the use of Doppler ultrasound. What is Doppler, the meaning of colours, equation, and importance of the angle in the examination with Doppler. The seventh chapter opens with a relatively new function in modern ultrasound devices, which is very important for the study of pregnant women. Examination with the threedimensional probe, which allow us to view three-dimensional development of a fetus. We discuss the basics of 3D/4D-ultrasound, its use, and the concept of recording. In chapter eight, we show a practical example showing 3D-examination (morphology), which was conducted on 26 week pregnant patient. We also added some high-quality twodimensional and three-dimensional images of child.
