The thesis analyse functional regions of Slovenia in the period 2000-2009. Functional regions were modelled using data on the mobility of the economically active population by the method Intramax. To this end, we first describe the basic concepts of functional regions. Then we present a method Intramax. This is the method by which we modelled functional regions according to the commuting flows of working population among the municipalities of Slovenia. Here we assume that the pattern of daily flows of workers is a good approximation to identify functional regions. Slovenia was divided into 3, 5, 7, 12 and 24 functional regions. In the first part we present the results of modelling functional regions after years in period 2000 to 2009. In the second part we analyse the divergence of functional regions by the studied years, regardless of gender. At the end of the thesis, we specifically evaluated the appropriateness of methods and results of modelling functional regions as a basis for defining functional regions of Slovenia.
