The diploma thesis describes planning and mapping of a new road connection between Slovenia and Austria. The new road connection would improve entry from the Central Slovenian region to Logarska valley and on to the Bad Eisenkappel in Austria. In the initial chapters is a brief presentation of transport system in Slovenia and various viewpoints of road positioning in space. The main chapter focuses on planning of cartographic documents, that present mapping method in detail, then the mathematical elements of maps, and description of the map sources. The last part of the thesis primarily explains the technical data of loop road, tunnels and calculation of the finished road level. In the final chapter is presented estimation of the investment. The maps
that support planning of the road connection are General situational map at scale 1: 50,000, Detailed situational map at scale 1: 10,000, Longitudinal profile at scale 1: 10,000 and Transverse profile of the loop road, which also contains the solution to the problem of mapping multi-level linear facilities.
